Most of the external joinery I make now is made using Accoya wood. A modified timber with simply amazing properties.

Being one of the first joiners in Shropshire to be accredited to use this fantastic material and since discovering its properties over 8 years ago I have not had any of the issues associated with traditional timbers like rot or movement, which makes doors and windows stick.

Here are a few other good reasons I use Accoya.  There's a 50 year warranty for ‘above ground’ applications. This incredibly durable building material will last for decades making it a smart investment.

Any finishes applied to Accoya lasts a lot longer due to the materials stability. The acetylation process works by preventing the cells in the wood from being able to absorb water and therefore no expansion contraction. Also for its sustainability, accredited by the FSC® and Cradle to Cradle (C2C) overall Gold certified™, it is the only construction material in the world to achieve C2C Platinum certification™ for Material Health.

Far more durable than the best hardwoods and sauced from well managed forests. Best of all.. My Accoya joinery is guaranteed to last twice as long as it takes for the trees that make it to grow..!
